There’s more space in an apartment. Many dorm rooms at TTU are 140 square feet and house two students. At Ashton Pointe, our 1-bedroom apartments start at 597 square feet, giving you much more space for daily life and your property.  

You also enjoy more privacy, as you won’t have to share a bedroom with a school-assigned roommate and a bathroom with multiple other students. You can select a private one-bedroom home or rent with roommates you select.  

Pet-Friendly Accommodations 

Student housing typically prohibits pets due to liability, allergies, and other practical concerns. TTU students may find themselves missing their beloved cats or dogs. How far is Ashton Pointe from Texas Tech University? 

Ashton Pointe is conveniently located in northwest Lubbock. We are approximately a 10-minute drive from Texas Tech University, depending on traffic! Our location makes it easy to commute to campus while enjoying a comfortable apartment home away from the busy campus atmosphere. We are also less than two miles from Lubbock Christian University.  

Can I take public transit to TTU? 

There are multiple Citibus stops within reasonable walking distance of Ashton Pointe Apartments. There are also local shuttle services that can help students get to class at TTU or Lubbock Christian University easily from Ashton Pointe Apartments. 

What are the income requirements to qualify for an apartment? 

Applicants are required to have a gross monthly income of at least 3 times the monthly rent (before taxes and deductions). If you don't meet the income requirements on your own, don't worry! Ask our leasing team about available guarantor options that may help you qualify. 

Can I use a parent or guardian as a guarantor? 

Absolutely! Applicants who may not qualify independently can apply with a qualified guarantor, such as a parent, guardian, or another eligible individual. 

A guarantor is someone who agrees to take financial responsibility if the resident is unable to make rental payments or to fulfill their financial obligations under the lease. 

Guarantors do not have to live in the apartment but must complete a separate application, have a gross monthly income of at least 4.5 times the monthly rent, meet our credit standards, and satisfy all other applicable screening requirements. 

Are the apartments furnished? 

Ashton Pointe offers unfurnished apartment homes, giving students the freedom to decorate and personalize their space! Bring your favorite furniture, decorations, and essentials to create a home that fits your style. 

Can I share an apartment with roommates? 

Absolutely! Living with roommates can be a great way to split expenses while enjoying apartment living. All roommates must complete the application process and be approved before moving in. 

Does Ashton Pointe offer individual leases or traditional leases? 

Ashton Pointe offers traditional apartment leases rather than individual student leases or single-bedroom leases. This means roommates share responsibility for the apartment and lease obligations, making it important to choose your roommates carefully! 

Is Off-Campus Housing an Option for Me? 

Students at TTU and Lubbock Christian University may be subject to an on-campus housing requirement, especially in their first year of full-time enrollment. Are there other off-campus housing options? 

Yes! Ashton Pointe Apartments is a Monarch property, and we have three sister properties here in Lubbock. The Park Apartments is also close to campus. It is about a 6-minute drive to campus. Hunters Way Apartments also offers a short commute, with a 7-minute drive to TTU. The Dominion Apartments is a bit farther, with a 10-15 minute drive to campus, depending on traffic. All three of our sister properties offer incredible amenities and unique floor plans that are great for TTU students. 

When should students start looking for an apartment? 

Finding an off-campus apartment as early as possible is your best option! Our residents are required to provide a 90-day notice before moving out, which means we often have an idea of upcoming apartment availability up to three months in advance.
